Students in Room 2 and 4 will be attending an excursion to the Melbourne Town Hall on Monday
10th November 2014
This year marks the 10th anniversary of The Song Room’s in-school workshop program. That’s ten years of The Song Room using the arts to enhance students’ education, personal development and community involvement. It’s also ten years of successful partnerships between The Song Room and schools such as St Albans East Primary School.
The Song Room will be marking this milestone with a performance event “Now We Are 10” at the Melbourne Town Hall on Monday 10th November. The performance will bring together students from a variety of past and present Song Room schools, to sing, dance and play for one another.
Also, there is an opportunity for parents and families to come along and watch the performance at 12.00pm. These audience members would need to be at the Melbourne Town Hall by 12.00pm, but unfortunately The Song Room and the school will not be able to cover any transport costs. Please let Mrs Armocida know as soon as possible if you would like to be part of the audience and we’ll reserve a spot for you.
Students from room 2 and 4 have been working with Song Room Teaching Artist: Biddy Connor to prepare for the performance. They have also been working on combined schools performance items during Performing Arts lessons at school. This excursion will provide our children with opportunity to discover what it is like to be part of live performance.
